Hello,

I am a multimedia designer and developer so I know all of the Adobe and Macromedia softwares and their

tools along with HTML and basic CSS hand coding. But it a whole new world when it comes to applying

my skills to MySpace and sites alike (Black Planet and You Tube).

On MySpace I am designing this Artist profile: http://www.myspace.com/usiegeinc right now it follows

the default basics of MySpace settings. What I am looking to do is like the following profiles.

1. Traxster: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=25491475
2. E-Dub: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =149753518
3. Snoop Dogg: http://www.myspace.com/snoopdogg

What I need to know from the above examples is how where they able to add their own graphic content,

and html codes to position the images as headers that way? I can design, and code
all the image links, but how did they position everything like a personal web site with such profession

style. Which codes did they place in which boxes (example: About Us box)?

Thank you all in advance.

The way I've always done MySpace Layouts is by going to a site like http://www.pimp-my-profile.com/ and designing the basics there. When they generate the CSS, you can make any changes to it you want. The tricky part is figuring out the strange naming conventions MySpace uses for their divs and classes.

As far as I know, you really only want to put the CSS in the About Me (or for an artist profile: Bio) section.

Here's my MySpace, for example: http://www.myspace.com/jamesonmac. I designed it using the method above.

Also, there are generators online to do all-flash profiles, but I'm not sure how far you can customize the Flash.

I've learned the easiest way to do myspace is to cover up there template with a layer then design what you want. Thats what I did. http://www.myspace.com/originno

jameson and OriginNO_II

Thank you both very much, Pimp-my-profile is a bit tem plated with their own ads tossed in, but I do agree if you know how to recode and redirect you can have a nice page. I want to design and build from scratch.

OriginNO_II, how did you position your businesscardinhand2ad.jpg at the top the way you did? And in which of the profile boxes did you add the code? Would I be able to find a tutorial or tutorials that would explain how do layers/layouts the way you did and like the other links I posted like Snoops?

Thanks Again.

hmm this isnt too complex... realy its just coding a bakgorund onto it and then the triky part is coding a banner up there but you can solver this by searching "Code Banner to myspace" on google or somthing along those lines :D

to rely push ya deisgn tht lil bit further using this method u want to try using different ways of presenting info. in the about me section etc. for example using photoshop or flash to present it

http://www.myspace.com/theclubsu

^^ myspace i did a while bak using photoshop to make a note pad type thing to show info.

the only difference between this and what yur trying to achieve realy is that my bakground doesnt bored the contents... this is done by just adding lines to a bakgorund image in photoshop
