How to use favcons

Hi I have a favcon in .ico format and it will work all I need to know is how to use it ie make it appear in the address bar. Do I use HTML or what?
I use this program to make it http://www.rw-designer.com/online_icon_maker.php just in case you are interested...

Yes but it does NOT tell you how to import them into a website!

You know how you upload a new webpage or image to your website to show others ?

Same thing should work for your "favicon.ico". :D

You use Dreamweaver?

Choose Insert>HTML>Head Tags>Link
Enter the path to yourFavicon.ico file or Browse

Alternatively,

I assume you also understand some Html coding, you can enter the code straight into the <head></head>
Eg.
Code: [ Select ]
<link href="yourFavicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" />


As for basic understanding of size and some other important requirements please refer to the link Joebert has posted.

If the HTML coding of how to show the favicon on the site... it actually HAS being posted there... please take some time to SCROLL DOWN a bit on the page... I found it without reading ANYTHING
