A very quick question, say you are posting a web link in a forum or an email, how do you change the links appearance so it says ' here ' for example instead of http://www.google.com for example? I've always wondered that!

cheers

You use an anchor link:

Code: [ Select ]
<a href="http://www.google.com">Here</a>

You need to be sure and include the "http://"

Thanks for the reply, so you just type it like that in the message? I'll try it below!

Hey, it worked!! :D

Cheers M8, I've been wondering for years how to do that!, Is there an easier way or do you just have to remember it exactly like that?

Well it worked on this website but it isn't working in outlook or outlook express, it just displays the whole thing with the website underlined as a link.

Any ideas?

thanks again

Email is different. Much depends on both your settings and the settings of the recipient. Some people have email set to receive email in text only, others accept both text and HTML. What you just did is HTML. However, to send an email in HTML format, you need to configure your mail client to do that (in which case you should code the whole page in HTML, not just links). For email just typing the link is usually sufficient for most people to receive a clickable link when they get their mail.

Yes, I've noticed links work fine in email, but I can't get this anchor thing to work, and the email is set to html.

cheers
