Please elaborate on your question. What type of portal system and what do you need it to do?

Still no html portal. Try using an asp or cgi portal that doesnt need mysql or mssql. Or you could go with a php portal. Just check with your host and get a mysql database.

Any help you would need just ask as suzie said. And they arent hard to work with. In a php portal pretty much what you do is when your installing your site input your databae name, username, and password. Thats all you have to do with mysql.

ya the only time youd have to make your own sql file is when you develop your own scripts. other than that you just insert the sql they give you or it istalls automatically with the db info you put in db.php or w/e the file is. GL with your portal.
