you see the list of animes on the left side? is there a easier way to update that list instead of going through every html file ive made and changing that one part?

yes, you can create a single php page with normal html in it and then name it say 'menu.php' and then in the place you want to put the menu in your page you use a php include instead of putting the menu there like this

<?php include("menu.php"); ?>

the only down point with this is that you will have to change all your files that hold this menu to the .php extension, but after that, its just a case of adjusting that one file

obviously the root eg (myfolder/myfile.php)has to be right

im not familiar with php but always can learn. dreamweaver is such a program to make this right?

if your using dreamweaver and all the html for that sidebar element are the same then you can actually do a replace on the whole site at one time (whether its saltedm8's idea or just a quick change to the html)

i did the hotspotting in dreamweaver and saved it as navigation.php but i cant get it to show up on the page?

wait nevermind i got it. i didnt know i had to change the index.html to .php

so now does every page i create have to be .php in order for me to insert that menu?

yes, unfortunately if you are including that menu it will need to be php

As far as what your going to do after 30 days... you will get NotePad++ (FREE by the way) and you will learn the proper way to hand code the sites using Notepad++
