Hey i need help, i made a website using html, and it included a couple of drop-down menus, which worked at the time, but then i decided to change the design of the website, so i downloaded a template (which uses javascript) and modified it to how i wanted it, i kept the same drop-down menus but i uploaded the new design and now when i try and select an item from the menu it doesn't load the page, it just comes up with error, i think it may be to do with the javascript but i can't find the problem in the source code.

if you go to <a href=http://www.new-talent.com/Search.html>here</a> and select an option from one of the menus you'll see what i mean.

hope someone can help!

thanks

Your drop-down menu is calling a javascript function called MM_jumpMenu but I can't find it anywhere in the code and it doesn't look like it's in an external file linked to the page because Mozilla's javascript console is telling me that it's undefined. Perhaps you removed it by accident, or forgot to put it into the new page or whatever. Put the script with the MM_jumpMenu back in place and it should work.

Now that I look at the name of the function more closely that looks like the one that dreamweaver generates for you. If you've misplaced it, try putting this inside the head portion of the webpage:

Code: [ Select ]
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
<!--
function MM_jumpMenu(targ,selObj,restore){ //v3.0
 eval(targ+".location='"+selObj.options[selObj.selectedIndex].value+"'");
 if (restore) selObj.selectedIndex=0;
}
//-->
</script>
  1. <script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
  2. <!--
  3. function MM_jumpMenu(targ,selObj,restore){ //v3.0
  4.  eval(targ+".location='"+selObj.options[selObj.selectedIndex].value+"'");
  5.  if (restore) selObj.selectedIndex=0;
  6. }
  7. //-->
  8. </script>
