Hello

I need to link people to my website through an email - the site has frames. How do I link to a specific frame while maintaining the upper and left frames?

Thanks

Congratulations, you have found an reason why frames are inadequate and break the model of the World Wide Web. There are two answers: The correct one is, don't use frames. Another answer is to write a specific frameset for the page to which you want to link.

THe further option is to link using a querystring ?framepage=path and use javascript (bad way) or serverside (good way) to alter the contents of the frameset pages.

Getting a teeny bit more complimacated, you can link the page inside the frame, which will run a js onload to see if it is inside a frame, if it is not then it reloads the frameset page with the correct page inside. I have seen this one done, and it confused the hell outa me :? Don't ask me how to set that up, I don't know anything about using frames.

However, the phrase don't use frames they are bloody evil springs to mind.
