Login form disapear and display account info

I've been trying to find a good example of this.
What im looking for is a ajax login that when the user successfully authenticates that the form disapears and user account information is being displayed. I see how to handle most of the script except for the actual making the login disapear and having some other data being displayed.
Would that just be hiding a div and making another one viewable after login?
