I'm trying to set up a blog to go with my overhauled site (well, in-the-process-of-being-overhauled site), which you can look at through the link in my new sig but also here. Now the only illustration in the layout is the butterfly in the header, which i've positioned with a negative margin of -60. It seems to work fine when viewed in firefox, but at work I've opened it in IE6 and find that the section of the butterfly which is in the negative (so the first 60px of the width) is sliced clean off.

any idea for a fix or a workaround?

I know someone will think of something brilliant :D

Thanks guys :D

how about instead of negative margins, just give it a piece of code like this:
Code: [ Select ]
div#header{
margin:0px;
padding:0px;
position:relative;
left:-60px;
top:0px;
}
  1. div#header{
  2. margin:0px;
  3. padding:0px;
  4. position:relative;
  5. left:-60px;
  6. top:0px;
  7. }

That works in IE6 too and it gives exactly the same result ... or at least it should.
