In order to define the short text that shows up after a site listing in a search engine, you would use the following meta tag:

Code: [ Select ]
<meta name="description" content="your site description" />

Is this correct?

If so, how long does it generally take until this description is read and displayed? I ask because right now the only text showing up on my search entry at Yahoo is the messae for my iframe for folks who can't see iframes. Part of this is due to the fact that almost all the information on my main page is graphical in nature, but I thought adding the meta tags would fix this issue. It has not thus far.

I am not sure, but it takes a while for their spider to come to your site and change the description.
