I've been doing some design/css coding work for a software company.

My job is to update existing design and apply new code. Interestingly I have found their coding basically eliminates compatibility with mozilla browsers. I have found myself making adjustments to the code to make sure it looks the same on both browsers.

This is the site I will be redesigning http://www.ssamm.com.au/ - notice how in mozilla the text displays incorectly.

This is my first job with the company (they are employing me as a outsourced business) so i'm not sure whether i should bring this imcompaticbility to their attention. Any advice on how to approach this? Please excuse my spelling, a little too much red wine tonight :) :)

cheers!

A significant amount ...

Users on my site for the last 7 days looked like this:

1. Internet Explorer 74.86%
2. Firefox 16.18%
3. Safari 3.40%
4. Opera 2.08%
5. Netscape 1.88%
6. Mozilla 0.76%
7. Konqueror 0.35%
8. Mozilla Compatible Agent 0.21%
9. Camino 0.14%

Certain types of sites can have a much higher percentage of mozilla-based
users - depending on the visitor demographics.

I would certainly mention it to them ... if they care, then they would welcome
the input you could offer.

This may benefit you considering you work for a software company. The list comes from w3schools and is updated monthly. The data comes from their own site so it is slightly skewed towards more technology oriented visitors, however the type of visitor to w3schools may be fairly similar to your site's target audience.

My site receives about 11.7% of people using Firefox....not bad for a site with a demographic of younger users (myspace.com users). That's off of about 30 million hits this month, so it's safe to say it wasn't skewed by one user like the last 2 posts....

Don't let Truce's number fool you. "Hits" include any graphic images, or object images (such as flash files), etc. A better measure would be "visits" or "unique visits", but his point is still sound. He has a large amount of activity on his site (obviously) so much like what I posted re: w3schools, the numbers can be considered in a positive manner relative to the target audience.

w3 schools has been posting their findings for what? nearly five years?

Exactly, and in reference to what Truce was saying

...you are most likely skewing your results by being the predominant "visitor" (I'm assuming here that you use Firefox)
