I have a website http://www.lease2u.co.uk I didn't design the site but I paid someone to do it for me. To cut a long story short I was not happy with the service I got so I terminated the agreement with the designer. For the last couple of months I have been learning how to update the site. I have a simple question which you guys might think is dumb but try to remember that I am a novice.

How do I add a fresh new page title is Fair Wear and Tear?

I need to keep the site theme the same. And I also need to know how to make sure there are links on the homepage.

Do you mean title as in the title up on the top bar of your web browser? If so, in the head of your html document, enclose you text within title tags like so:

Code: [ Select ]
<html>
<head>
<title>KC0TMA Mike is calvi36's hero</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
  1. <html>
  2. <head>
  3. <title>KC0TMA Mike is calvi36's hero</title>
  4. </head>
  5. <body>
  6. </body>
  7. </html>

The title of the page doesn't really matter. Let;s say it will end up as http://www.lease2u.co.uk/fair.html

Then after you upload it, you use HTML code on your home page to create the link so if someone clicks on it, it will take them there.

The quickest and easiest way to make a new page would probably be to just copy an existing page, then change the filename, title, and whatever content you need to change.

What I do when I want to add another page to a site is:

1) open the .htm file of a page similar to how I want to new one to look
2) 'save as' a different name (newpage.htm)
3) change the title (<title>New Page Name</title>
4) change whatever other content you want
