Need Design Help!

Hry guys I'm participating in a inter college web design. I have to design a website for my college. Can some of you Pro's suggest me the colors and the layout of the site a college site should contain. I thought usin Green and orange for logo and Maroon for text header in logo.

I suggest a 3 column, fixed width layout. Most colleges have colors, therefore, develop a brand for the college w/ 2 or 3 colors and then build your website. Picking those colors requires almost no expertise.

You'd be better to change the color of the logo.

http://kuler.adobe.com ... that's a pretty cool place to find awesome colour combinations, but I would also suggest that you use the college's colours for the entry ...
