Post September 30th, 2006, 7:00 am

Im having problems with my site. http://www.CircleOfLinks.com.au -
I have tried everything and i cant get this damn thing to work. In Internet Explorer it works perfectly fine but in Mozilla Fire Fox the colour changes and also some of the font... Im sick of trying, spent hours and achieved nothing, used Nvu, Dreamweaver (no clue how to use) and what I normally use Front Page still cant get this to work. So im looking for someone who wont set me broke and wants to make some extra cash to help me. please contact me at support@circleoflinks.com.au if you are interested.

Thanks

Danny

can you point out an area that is giving you problems, or take some screenshots? I took a closer look in both ff 1.5 and ie 6, but could not see any problems.

His problem is that some of the colors he chose -- most notably with the borders around the table cells -- don't look the same in IE and Firefox. It's obviously a CSS problem, but because he's using Frontpage in click-and-drag mode, the code is practically unreadible, so it's hard to see exactly where the problem lies. I think it'd be far more efficient and worthwhile for him to take the time to learn basic HTML and CSS rather than trying to pay someone to fix his problems. Chances are that similar problems will appear if he continues to use this method of website creation, so why not nip it in the bud now?

I tend to agree that it isn't worth trying to patch this page...

Failed validation, 294 errors

It'd be faster to simply start fresh with composer, 1stPage 2000 or something equally affordable.

So do you think I should start all over again? I have about 55 pages.
First Page seems to basic thoe... got any other recomendation to a good editor?

1st Page 2000 is far superior to Front Page, in all aspects too.

It sounds noob-ish, but it's a wonderful environment when you're coding...handy scripts, color coded tags for when you're using advanced mode, I've never used the beginner mode.

It also has real time preview that updates as you make changes, it also has a built in ftp client I believe....the preview window has a number of preset resolutions to take such thiings into account when designing pages.

It has four modes that you can choose from, based on your needs and experience.
Easy
Normal
Advanced/Expert
Hardcore

As far as whether or not I think it's worth recoding all 50 pages, all I can suggest is to ask yourself...how big a pain in tha butt are these design problems now.

Make your decision whether to recode based on your reply to such a question.

Good luck.

P.S. I also recommend going to some html tutorial sites to bone up on coding from scratch.

It's where I learnt to code..
