I am replacing some table based pages.

I am thinking about nested div's because they will show up in mobile browsers. I have no clue when this site will be updated again.

I thought that I may have read that the <div> tag was changing or the way browsers parse them is changing or a proposal is in the works or something?

Does that ring a bell with anyone?

Thanks! So - hmmm. Any suggestions on how to replace tables without using a nested <div> layout? I can see where the datagrid would work in some circumstances but not all. It's kind of like the iframe, it's got use and function and needs a replacement, but has been the subject of abuse.

I wouldn't worry too much about HTML 5 as it isn't finished.

Trial and error is the only suggestion I have for going tableless.

I've never heard of this before. It HTML 5 supposed to replace XHTML, or will they coexist?

I'm sure they will coexist just as they do now.

If you're diving into the world of divs, I'd suggest this website:

It helped me a ton when I made the switch.

Please, explain.
From what I understand, a datagrid element is a controller for table & datalist elements, yet is useless by itself.

That's reassuring & scarry at the same time.

Googles' influence I like, they've got an idea what could make things easier for people.

I'm not sure I like Apples involvement after the iPhone/AT&T lock in.
