What language do you need it in? I've written a PHP script that handles sessions. It can integrate into any page - you just need to insert an "include" into each page that you wish to restrict. Is this something that you need?

Well, if you use apache you can password protect a directory, but there is no really secure way with just html.

Scorpius is right -- it's impossible to password protect pages using plain HTML. You need to use something server-side... like Apache's password-protect feature, or by using a server-side script using something like PHP or Perl.

You can protect a page with JavaScript or Flash, but it is very easy to hack – http://www.try2hack.nl Reliable protection is possible only by means of Apache with .htaccess and .htpasswd files.
