Hi again guys, right ive got some wierd issues on the site im designing,

the html is here.... http://www.carl-robinson.co.uk/CHS/Concept2.html
the css is here..... http://www.carl-robinson.co.uk/CHS/main2.css

if you look on the page your'll see the problems,

first the two divs and the bottom i cant get to align properly, i think i managed to bodge it, but then im having problems with the second div's header, the background isn't coming up and if i type more then one word, it starts going down onto a new line.

would be great if someone could help me with this because once thats done i can actually start putting content onto pages to get it finished and up!

also excuse the messy css! and i know theres alot of other things going haywire on there, im just trying to sort this out first :)
:D
cheers in advane :D

maybe fixing the HTML errors and the CSS errors would bring you closer already ...

First thing that you can do is to add the following CSS ...
Code: [ Select ]
ul{margin:0px;}

that's already going to help a bit ...

You can then also move the div#footer into div#container ... and then the footer will be centered ...

No I don't see anything wrong with the lists ... which browser are you using ... I just viewed in FF3 and IE7, I just see that IE7 throws away the bullets ...

also, change the following CSS to the CSS I give you ... otherwise there's a gap between the content and footer in FF3 ...
Code: [ Select ]
#rightimagebottom{
position:relative;
margin:0px 0px 0px 720px;
padding:0px 0px 5px 0px;
}
  1. #rightimagebottom{
  2. position:relative;
  3. margin:0px 0px 0px 720px;
  4. padding:0px 0px 5px 0px;
  5. }

The footer is still a bit too low in FF3 ... We're getting there slowly ...

Why is that image of that cat there in the bottom, it stands out, and I don't think it's in a good way ... it's just sort of randomly there ...

That welcome part still screws up in FF3 ... I am not quite sure why ... I just need a while to stop quick ... hopefully someone sees why otherwise I might go mad ... hehe

to fix your 2nd box looking odd

replace with this..

its simply the float:left that you missed

.laing {

float:left;
background-image:url(images/pbgsmall.png);
background-repeat:repeat-Y;
width:467px;
height:290px;
}

Are you actually wanting the two boxes to sit on top of each other like they do now or side by side ??

if you do want the two boxes sat next to eachother rather than on top of eachother, please look at your overall size of your boxes, if your combined width of the two boxes, margins and padding equal more than the containing div...

also using position:relative; on your boxes would help you...

it looks like this is a template youve taken to use as your own judging from the amount of comments, no problem in that however if you do it from scrath youd understand alot better...maybe this is from scratch, but just doesnt look that way, anyhow hope my comments can help you.
