Question about Web chat

I have a little question, hoping you guys would help me.
I have a forum created with phpbb and I'm thinking of adding a chat section in it. Is it posible? And if it is, how can I do it?

I have another question (because I am new with these stuffs), how can I use the files that I have downloaded from the site you gave me? Do I have to deal with editing HTML? I have learnt something about HTML, but I do not know how to edit it. For example, I already have created a phpbb forum, and now I want to add just a simple counter to it, I have the codes of the counter but I do not know the way to put it in the page code. Can you please explain to me? I have been looking for the answer over google, but found nothing.
