Haven't seen a simple comparison of browser performance lately, until today.

It's a shame the only thing Chrome seems to be good for is browsing web pages. It got some pretty good marks.
Why yes, yes I am.

I was surprised at Safari beating FF a lot. (I assume that is base firefox, no extensions).

I shall not use chrome until it's plugin base has all that I use on firefox..

Now to run this test on osx and see how they stack up!

I used to use firefox until now but recently it just started giving all those problems of becoming unstable and crashes and had to switch to Chrome.

IE is really a joke. Donot know if any savvy web surfer uses IE...

That's a very cool chart ... I'll do those tests on my own machine though just to see the differences for me personally. Because tests like these are rather accurate, but per-machine settings change a lot of things.

I haven't used Chrome in about a week. Decided to run that benchmark test. IE 8 scored lousy as expected. Went to open Chrome and it won't open. Uninstalled and reinstalled three times and it still won't open. Hmmmmm....

//interesting. If anybody else has problems with Chrome crashing on start up with a 0xc0000005 error, the fix is to add --no-sandbox At the end of the target path on the Desktop or Quicklaunch shortcut.

Vista:
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --no-sandbox

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --no-sandbox

The winner for me was Safari, with Chrome a close second.

Vista Business SP2
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9550
GPU: Intel GMA X4500MHD

Safari 4.0.3 = 3429
Chrome 3.0.195.27 = 3306
Opera 10.01 = 2008
Firefox 3.5.4 = 1858
IE 8 = 813

IE didn't even display the complex graphics test. Screen was just blank during it. It scored a whopping zero for that test.

My system:

Intel Core2Duo T9300
ATI mobility Radeon HD2600
