How is it that some sites, have it when you click a link, the address bar stays the same, it doesnt show the while dir too the link you click. Example would be: http://www.thecolos.de/

The easiest way i can think of would be to put the page you want to have as the address bar in a iframe and set the iframe to 100% in width & height.

Like so...
Code: [ Select ]
<iframe src="pageyouwantasaddressbar.html" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></iframe>

But make sure you add the following code to your body tag, otherwise the body will have margins and padding and the 100% will be more like 95%...
Code: [ Select ]
<body style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">

that would be nice...besides the fact netscape doesn't support them :D
anybody that says differently is wrong...netscape SAYS they support iframes, but they really dont.

The example site uses frame.

Code: [ Select ]
<frameset rows="1,100%" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0">
<frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.index.php" name="topFrame" scrolling="NO" noresize >
<frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.counter.php" name="mainFrame">
</frameset>
  1. <frameset rows="1,100%" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0">
  2. <frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.index.php" name="topFrame" scrolling="NO" noresize >
  3. <frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.counter.php" name="mainFrame">
  4. </frameset>

Bad bad idea. Don't even think about doing this.

#2: I tried

Will you please explain why it is a bad idea. It does the job and if visitors bookmarks any section of the site he always gets the home page.

The only draw back i see is the search engine side, is that wat u mean?

OUCH...! :(

Did you guys see the source code of that page...? SICK...!!!

And yes, it's an iframe:
Code: [ Select ]
<frameset rows="1,100%" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0">
<frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.index.php" name="topFrame" scrolling="NO" noresize >
<frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.counter.php" name="mainFrame">
</frameset>
  1. <frameset rows="1,100%" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0">
  2. <frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.index.php" name="topFrame" scrolling="NO" noresize >
  3. <frame src="www.thecolos/thecolos/gfx_page.counter.php" name="mainFrame">
  4. </frameset>

Annoying when they try to prevent people from right-clicking to view source... Like they are gonna achieve something with it...

Why do you want this? What you want is a bad thing: nobody can link to individual pages of your site.

Dot tk domains use frames.

Here is the source code that the dot tk site uses
Code: [ Select ]
<html>

 <head>
  <title>500+ Bittorrent Sites at BTsites.tk</title>
  <meta name="description" content="links to bittorrent websites">
  <meta name="keywords" content="bitorent, bitorrent, bittorent, bittorrent, sites, suprnova, torent, torrent">
 </head>

 <frameset rows="*,1" framespacing="0" border="0" frameborder="NO">

  <frame src="http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/romeria/bittorrentsites.htm" name="dot_tk_frame_content" scrolling="auto" noresize>
 </frameset>

 <noframes>
  <body>
  </body>
 </noframes>

</html>
  1. <html>
  2.  <head>
  3.   <title>500+ Bittorrent Sites at BTsites.tk</title>
  4.   <meta name="description" content="links to bittorrent websites">
  5.   <meta name="keywords" content="bitorent, bitorrent, bittorent, bittorrent, sites, suprnova, torent, torrent">
  6.  </head>
  7.  <frameset rows="*,1" framespacing="0" border="0" frameborder="NO">
  8.   <frame src="http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/romeria/bittorrentsites.htm" name="dot_tk_frame_content" scrolling="auto" noresize>
  9.  </frameset>
  10.  <noframes>
  11.   <body>
  12.   </body>
  13.  </noframes>
  14. </html>

Code taken from http://www.btsites.tk/

If any of you are wondering why i chose that site then it just came up in a search on google for .tk

As I said, nobody can link to individual pages of your site. Also, it is bad usability, because people try to know where they are in the site with the URL. Also, if some newbie tries to tell his friend about this awesome page, that attempt will fail.
