search database

hi guys
im designing a site on clubbing events in the northwest of england
i want to do a club search where members can type in the name of a club or music pub and find its details and location etc
i presume i need to set up some kind of database but im unsure how to do this and how to link it correctly to my search box
can any1 please help

Please provide some details on your environment. What kind of server, what sort of languages... (PHP, ASP) what database do you have. That sort of thing.

Also, do you know anything about server side programming or databases?

just trying to get a feel for where to start.
