Search Engines - Quick Qusetion

Hi everyone, im new here and just have a quick question if someone doesnt mind answering it. Im making a website which is nearly finished and i am adding a site search box to it. Ive outsourced it to 'Livesearch' and added all of the HTML onto the page, the form and everything works fine. My question is, i want it to serach the website only not the general world wide web, the site isnt as of yet published and so when i try to search for something it cannot find it so it bounces me to the www, ponce i publish the site will the search feature work as it should or hvae i done something incorrect from the off. By "Livesearch", do you mean Microsofts Live Search ?

I'm thinking you're only having issues because the site is inaccessible to Lives' crawler.
