Sliding effect

Hey guys,

Do you have any idea what technique is used to create this "sliding" effect.

check http://www1.shopzilla.com/tshirt/search-html and try the left and right button.

Yes, I guess it's AJAX but what's the programming concept, how does it slide/glide through onclick.

Tried google but got no relevant result, perhaps have used the wrong keyword.

I'm pretty sure you can achieve this effect with a simple DHTML technique. I'm not sure an AJAX technique would be required. You can get a script for a manual scrolling DIV just about anywhere. You just need to change it's mouse events and scrolling parameters (e.g. distance to scroll) to your liking.
