Hi.
I wanted to make the button with glowing text. Here the code:

<style type="text/css">
.but1{
width: 100px;
background-color:transparent;
filter: Glow(Strength=4, Color="#724734");
}
</style>

<form name="form1" method="post">
<input id="but" type="button" class="but1" value="OK">
</form>

And I have faced a problem, that I can click only on text "OK" and border of the button.

Somebody has ideas how to solve this problem?

Beforehand thanks for the answer. :)

Hey Jaik,

This might fix your problem, but try getting rid of the id attribute. there is no id named but, only a class named but1, which is already set. I'll try your code and see what else i can cook up.

No luck with that. I think it may have something to do with the fact that it is filtered. i may be wrong though.

Probably has to do with the fact that the "filter" element is only supported in IE and even it is buggy with it. Filter is not supported in CSS1 or CSS2 and will not display in any browser other than Internet Explorer. Personally, I'd skip it, if I were you.

I agree with atno. Use an image if you really want that effect.

Well surely that is the problem? If it's transparent, <i>usually</i> you can click on stuff behind it as well => you can't click <b>on</b> the background.

However, filters <i>are</i> bad. Browser-specific styles are bad. use an image. (preferably as a background-image on a button, using "normal" text)
