I spent this weekend installing and deleting e-catalog and e-commerce packages. I'm now to the point (frustration) of putting it to the public.

I don't need e-commerce functionality, only something I can use as a simple catalog. Here are my criteria...

1. Open source (free)
2. Completely customizable
3. Standard compliant (NOT like oscommerce and it's ridiculous markup)
4. Automagic image resizing and recompression
5. PHP 4.4.4 / MySQL 5

Otherwise, I guess I'll dive in and start building from scratch.

Any ideas?

aye zencart is the way forward.

i would recogment using camolot hosting if ou want an ecommerce site with zencart. i have 2 zencart stores and had loads of trouble with hosting and getting the site running perfect. i talked to camolot which are zencart approved hosts, and within secods my site was running how i expected.

They will even install if for you for free or migrate it over from another server.

Tell them i recogmended them.

Thanks for the advice kitcorsa. I did install and very much like Zen Cart.

I have my own server, though. ;)
