try not using a background to display the soldier, use a normal image, if that doesnt work out, maybe you could post the code or something?

Hey, dump frontpage, get dreamweaver x]

Ahh dont hack on FP its made me a lot of money :D

I would suggest not using red as the cell background colour where the text is to the right of the page.

Basically if you want your background image to display well in 800x600 your going to have to size the soldier that size... it just means it will look smaller in 1024x768

You probably want to avoid using large images as the background, it can work well in some cases when your saving it from a vector file you can make it a gif image of around 20kb which isnt too bad and still keeps its quality, any bigger and you may as well look at making it a seperate image like someone else suggested, and making the background red.

Then you can use percentage on your cells like you have already and it wont look overlapped.

hmm, you could probably use javascript to figure out what resolution the user has and figure out which image to show based on that.

thanks for answers people, i've managed to get a decent look
in 1024*768 and higher, as you say it'll now just get smaller, won't stretch either, because i disabled fixed size on the right cell.
try http://www.techern.com now, improved? :)

thanks for help

to be honest i kinda like it. Somethings off though w/ sizing...I haven't pegged it yet...but something is wigging me out a little. I can't decide if this is it, but the blank space to the right of your text...I don't really like that being there. I'm viewing your page in 1152x864. Basically all you'd need to do to fix this is some align=right. I checked in 1024x768, it's better there obviously as I'm guessing that your native resolution. I like the design though...just try to be more concienous about who you're users are/will be.

It looks yukky in 800x600, which is the resolution I use because I dont want to end up with glasses
