I am not sure where a tutorial would be but the main use I have for div tags is

Code: [ Select ]
<div align=center">

which makes the content of the page centred (if your site wasnt done on percentages)

Maybe there might be something on google.

Good luck :D

Oh really? :lol: Nobody knows everything.

The div tag can be used for a billion things. From page layout to simply aligning an area of text, you can do just about everything with it. What exactly do you want to know about the div tag? Using CSS, you could make p tags (or any other tags) behave exactly the same way, so it's not really that the div tag is special aside from it's the right tag to use.

Well, div layers layouts are commonly known as "pure CSS layouts" - which should help you googling for stuff. As for table layouts, you really can skip learning them, there isn't any need for using tables nowadays, it's like using a spade to knock in a nail, even though you have a perfectly good hammer in the toolbox.

Of course to start doing css layouts, you are going to need to understand the syntax of CSS. Personally I recomend the w3schools css tutorials that jim linked to above to get you started. It's a very simple language, should only take a couple of hours to get the basics sorted out.

I'm working on step-by-step tutorials at the mo - check out the sig. It's going slow due to commitments in that thing I like to call life :roll:

Other sites you may wish to visit in terms of css layouts:
