yeah that seems pretty good. I think that is about how long it took most pages for me to load when I was on dial-up

I Try to keep all my pages under 50KB.
Preferably 30KB

this site is also a ton of flash

The use of Bband has risen. Somewhere along the line we have to ignore the granny who won't upgrade to highspeed. Other than that I see it being fazed out where possible.

Actually the amount of people on dialup is still quite high.
Especially outside america.
I use the 10 second rule.
People wont wait longer than that.
And you dont need an intro animation in my opinion.
Flash Makes very good banners & Logos but having a menu in flash is a bad idea.
Spiders dont follow it and it wont work on browsers with no flash or active script disabled.

....mine are a mere fraction of that at 3KB per page.......

this is done on purpose though so the pages load faster....

75% in the uk as of march 2004. Not designing dialup friendly pages is nearly as stupid as designing your pages so they don't work properly in internet explorer!

Mr smith, your sites front page with dependancies comes to 43kB, did you miss of the leading 4?

lol.......is it even possible to have a 3KB page? (well, it is if you put nothing on it i guess..... ) now that would load fast.......luckily though, my site does load pretty quick, so it's ok.

a service provider in the uk got fined for giving dial up users a crappy service on purpose in an attempt to convert them all to Bband.

the only thing that will make all people use broad band is if it was the same price as dial up, which it practically is at the moment so it wont be long before everybody is on it.
