I am in the process of changing the design of a 200 page site. I would like to switch from tables to a design of CSS and DWT.

Is there a software tool which will remove the formatting of a site (tables, font tags etc) but keep the meta tags, body content, <p> and titles in place? A batch conversion tool would make my life much easier.

I know that in dreamweaver you can do an advanced "find and replace", you can have it replace wildcard elements such as "<table> * </table>" where "*" stands for everything that falls in between the opening <table> tag and the closing </table> tag. You can find and replace on the current document that you have open, or you can select multiple files in the folder list and apply the find and replace to every page that you have selected without even opening them!

Try HTML Tidy, I haven't used it in such a long time, so I am not sure what it will do -- it will probably not do everything you want, but it might do something beneficial.
