Lines, why!>? (link)

I have NO idea why there are lines on the ends of the thick blue bars! I've tried removing all padding/margins and checked and double-checked the images to make sure that they were not at fault! What's creating those lines!? Help is so much appreicated. Thanks in advance.

the reason why this is happening is because of the background repeat. The barleft and barright gifs are there but it is repeating past them on the x axis.

Don't know why there's a problem (I could just say that IE is crap, but...). Anyway, here's a solution (a hackish one, unfortunately).

Code: [ Select ]
/* IE Win hack */
* html .head2
{
    margin-right: 3px;
    margin-left: 3px;
}
* html .head2 img
{
    margin: 0 -3px;
}
/* end IE Win hack */
/* IE Win hack */
* html #head3
{
    margin-right: 3px;
    margin-left: 3px;
}
* html #head3 img
{
    margin: 0 -3px;
}
/* end IE Win hack */
  1. /* IE Win hack */
  2. * html .head2
  3. {
  4.     margin-right: 3px;
  5.     margin-left: 3px;
  6. }
  7. * html .head2 img
  8. {
  9.     margin: 0 -3px;
  10. }
  11. /* end IE Win hack */
  12. /* IE Win hack */
  13. * html #head3
  14. {
  15.     margin-right: 3px;
  16.     margin-left: 3px;
  17. }
  18. * html #head3 img
  19. {
  20.     margin: 0 -3px;
  21. }
  22. /* end IE Win hack */

Incidentally, since you're using pixels to size your fonts, and since IE users can't resize fonts when their sizes are given using pixels (perhaps you could try 80% as the main font size), I suggest you protect yourself with an incantation! http://www.rpi.edu/~hughes/www/wise_guy ... _text.html
