Hello atitjohni3,
Welcome to ozzu,
I'm not clever either with comps so your in good company lolol, but many people here are and they will certainly help you.
So already you have a web site, good start, now what you do is go to Invision and d/load the software, does your web site provider allow PHP and mysql, if not then you need to find some web provider that does for the board to run properly...preferably one that will have what they call "addon scripts" this could be an IB board, or like bwm here it could be phpbb, this board looks the way it does because its been what they call "skinned" to look nice!
If the provider whoever you choose does'nt upload the board for you, you would have to manually upload it yourself to your space by FTP, so you may also need an FTP programe, but as you don't know how to setup a board as yet i would'nt reccomend it without help, i.e done for you.
Once the board is installed providing its Ivisionboard i could help you get the forums and catagories set up by helping you here at bwm, but so can lots more with more experience!

Below are some links to various places to start you off, please ask any questions you need to.
Good luckatitjohni3. suzie.
This is Invision Board its a standard package, they will provide the space and install the board for you, the cost each month is $10 with an initial fee of $20 which included the setup fee, after that its $10 each month.
phpBB is a high powered, fully scalable, and highly customisable open-source bulletin board package. phpBB has a user-friendly interface, simple and straightforward administration panel, and helpful FAQ. Based on the powerful PHP server language and your choice of MySQL, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL or Access/ODBC database servers, phpBB is the ideal free community solution for all web sites.
Be prepared for small buttons for the adverts, but no popups.
FTP for your file uploads.
