is there a way to MAKE a web counter rather than getting one form the web like php or something?

I wonder what's wrong with mine in Safari (3.1.2 to be precise, if matters) on this page, http://hirasawa2032.com/index.html

I'm remaking that page anyway, but still, I'll use the same counter and its code, so any clue what's wrong with it that instead of displaying, it spews out its code in a ugly fat blue-bordered rectangle? And even saying "must be created in cPanel first!" when it's not only created, but it's there AND working and working through THE CGI!

Well im ok at php but I don't real know engugh to work out a counter. javascript is just words to me I havet looked into it much so php of if you coud do it with css and html that woud be best but it would probley be hard? mabe I have no idea :roll:
