Do you know html? if you do you could get Evrsoft from http://www.evrsoft.com its free and very good which comes with many tutorials.

If you dont know html you could use microsoft frontpage (thats if your host allows it)

What control panel are you using? it might have an online file manager.
Also you could get an ftp program to upload with like ws_ftp 95 le.

For easy use I would recommend the following programs.

NetObjects Fusion MX - design, content
Leech FTP - FTP client for uploading to webspace.

fireworks 5 - good image manipulation tool, design tool.
Flash - animation/program making.

Once you get used to the general idea you may want to use scripts to enhance your site. Here are some sites:

I hope Ive helped you there :D

If all else fails, and you want something quick, easy, and free, try Yahoo! GeoCities Page Builder.

http://www.geocities.com

It works very well for beginners and you do not need to know a thing.

yeah but you can not use a domain name with geocities

i would recomend NetObjects Fusion 8.

BTW dont you think you should have thought about this before you brought a domain name? lol

If you feel like you're kind of stuck, but have some money, you might want to check out some design companies as well. Some good ones (that i can think of) are:

2advanced.com (which could pottentially cost you 1,000 dollars :) so dont do that.. just in case you want some ideas.)
I think Unflux offers web design as well, although you'd have to ask him about that  . There are ton's out there, as well as a few free template sites that you might want to check out for a temporary site. All in all, google would be your best tool, just search for "free web templates" or "web design" (if you're willing to pay)

Edit: I forgot to mension threeboy. He's pretty good. http://www.threeboy.com.

You should try Intellyweb. It is a really easy to use template based sitebuilder which means you don't have to worry to much about designing. Its an offline software and its got built in FTP functionality so you can upload your site anywhere you want with a button click.

There is a free trial at their website: http://www.intellyweb.com
