Wordpres or Joomla?

Depends on what you're planning on doing with them. Wordpress is more of a newspaper or magazine publication oriented piece of software, whereas Joomla! is better suited for a portal type site with no clear cut plans.
Joomla! would probably be better for you, assuming your plans are as vague as your question.
