SITE REVIEW: The Callum Blue Site
SITE REVIEW: A site dedicated to actor Callum Blue, most famous for playing Mason in Dead like me.

After pondering about whether or not to put the site up for review, I decided "what the hey, what's the worst that could happen, be told that my site is static?" ha I already know that one

I would appreciate some feedback please

I like the layout.
only things I see that need work are.

1. The picture on the left side of your header image is stretched to much. You might want to take it into photoshop and fix the picture.

2. Your links at the left side are blue, on blue. Which is hard to read, I would make them black or something. With a rollover to make users know that they are links. The alternating colors also are a menu hazard.

3. e-mail: try just putting it Jaye (@) callum-blue.co.uk it fixes it so that spyders don't get your e-mail. spam = bad.

4. your headings on the main part of the page "Now, Films, DVDs" look like they could be links. change it from white, because its hard to read, and git rid of the underlines, keep them bold though.

5. The content on the left, might want to have just a little padding from the left and right side, because it runs in to the left side and right side.

6. make the text size smaller. so it doesn't take away from your content.

My advice would be to learn a little CSS, (http://www.w3schools.com) and stick a style sheet on your site to really fix all those problem.

I do not like that website at all. You don`t even have css styles to your menu links. plus the design is basicly made of rectangles.

a way to make your menu look better is this:

place this code in your page head tag



This will make your links to turn white, even if you have visited one page or another within your website. I`m telling you it will look better.

hey there.

as you have described it as an actors site ..but it doesnt show enough glamour if someone comes to ur site..just showing a few pics doesnt make a website glamourous.

in my view you must put some hot and sexy colour combinations and something like which can attract anyone to surf to the next page.
i feel to close the site instead of moving in to other pages.

you should ask some.....photoshop expert or image designer. that will be much cheap if u use the pic developed by him in ur website's index page.

you can slice the images and then can give nice hot touch.

i like this iste.

Personally i don't like the site for the following reasons:
1. It is very very very basic
2. the colors don't go well
3. the images are horrendously basic, looks like they've been edited with microsoft paint (a free imaging program could help eg. "Gimp").
4. try to use an external stylesheet, it will help keep everything tidy and easy to change.
5. it is all on the left hand of the page.

I tend to agree. You need to cut out the people better, and the layout is pretty basic. You may want to center it also, for larger resolutions (above 1024)

Thank you all for the constructive crititism, I have taken it on board and am working on the points that have been raised

I have been having a bit of trouble with the CSS but this is how I want the site to look - well mostly anyway, I think it needs a few more adjustments but you get the gist.
