Hi guys:

This site ( Googlebye.com ) is mainly a Search Engine with results coming from Google, Bing and Yahoo. It can also be used as a SEO ranking checking tool.

The idea behind this site comes from that I don’t like searching many times on different search engines.

After much hard promotion, I got some traffic to this site. However the returning visits rates keeps a low level of 20%. That means most visitors won’t come back.

I’m quite confused about it so I get to here for your valuable comments like:
Where should I improve for this site ?
Do you feel any obstacles when using it ?
Do you think this type of sites could be a alternate when searching ?
......
Of course welcome comments not limited to above.

Site: http://www.googlebye.com

Sincerely.
Thanks in advance.

I like the side by side results.

I don't like the fact that once you choose a result to open it doesn't open in a new window / tab. Even after closing the other two engines, it's still in an iFrame and there doesn't seem to be any way to get it to open in a separate tab. That alone would keep me from coming back.

I agree with that a breakout feature would be nice. Also I like trying to break things and I was able to break your design a bit. When using your check boxes for the search engine selection rapidly checking and unchecking the boxes can/will cause delayed animations. I was able to cause the animations to run for minutes after I stopped clicking the check boxes. When all of the is going on the animations are not side by side anymore but stacked and all over the place. A few times i was able to get the animations to stop with it being stacked instead of side by side.

Since you are using jQuery to run the animations you could try using .stop(true,true) before running your animations.

Hi guys:

Thanks for your reviews and time on this site. According to your suggestion, I’v made some improvement including:
* Added results from Duckduckgo. Now 4 engines included: Google, Bing, Yahoo and Duckduckgo;
* Turning pages of results;
* Shortcuts of Scrolling to Top and Scrolling to Next Page;
* Search box fixed when scrolling.

Sincerely welcome your dropping in and your comments no matter good or bad.

I like the idea, but it should be responsive for mobile user and the graphics are a bit old school boring.

Hello,

When using Internet Explorer to view and test your website, there are 3 rectangle shaped box that appear in less than a half-screen format that is not adjustable, and makes for a difficult reading of the page results.

Yes, i agree with the above, the graphics look somewhat oldschool, people might not like it nowadays.

Try to make it a little bit better - otherwise good job on making the website.
