Thats because I dont want my entry page to appear on the robots search engine. I wish I could get rid of it but it automatically goes to index.html no matter what. Search engines do get welcome.php high on the list though.

You need to create a Robots.txt file and put it on your server then, This will allow you to tell the search engines which pages to index and which ones to not index. Do a Google for "Robots.txt" and that should help you get started.

Or just create a meta tag to tell them. Ill do it later. Its not very high on the list of webmaster projects.

Just from the top of my head, the meta tag is quite simple.... not sure if this is 100% accurate though...

Code: [ Select ]
<meta name="robots" content="index,nofollow">

Something to that effect.

[/code]

I think thats right but it's noindex,nofollow

<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">

And I want the robot to follow the page and index other parts of my website so I just need 'noindex'.

<meta name="robots" content="noindex">

Update:
I have redone the Exploring Azoundria tutorial and logo and would like to know what people think of them.

You are using the basic font. Possibily use Italic.

Your saying I should use italics font for everything?? I will wait until I get a second opinion on this.

IsMyWebsite and the Chatters are working. I need more tests to find any errors.

Also if anyone wants to preregister their user for Exploring Azoundria just so I know how many people to expect to play you can do so now.

I had an old website design but nostressdesgin.tk offered to create me a new template for free. I cannot decide which is better.

Changing the colours on either is also an option or if anyone has a design they want to show me. Mostly for designs I want:

-Mainly curves not corners

-Blue and black as colours in the scheme.

-Space for menu, google adsense, title, main content, and copyright

Well, here is the only things I dont like about your site's design:

-Giant Text
-Too many inconsitant colors
-Big Images (like the giant red buttons)

I'm gonna have to say "New Design". Honestly, I never really liked the old one.

My friend said the new one with the old colours. If I darkened the blue and grey would the new one look better?

I would say yes. The layout of the new design is much easier to follow, but the colors are awful. I actually liked some of the colors in the old one, though you should limit yourself to 2 or 3 base colors and only stray from that for very rare circumstances.

So how can I shrink number of colours? I can make grey almost be black then it is basically black. Then I have to decide for links between red and yellow.

Try using your imagination.

The old design is better. The new one is complete ugliness. I dislike the colors of the old one less than those of the new one, but then there are problems with the textimages being illegible, and some images' colors don't match perfectly with the background color next to them.

Shouldn't this be in the reviews forum?

Yep. Merged it with the original post. Azoundria, when asking for opinions on what you're doing, please keep it to this post. Thanks.

I wasn't really sure where to post it. I had no way of creating a vote in this review topic.

Anyways sounds like I should just keep my original design. The new one seems to be considered just as good.

I think darker blue and grey would fix the eye strain.

IsMyWebsite is now up as a custom homepage and free domain provider. Please test it for me. Quicklinks should be working soon. If you do not find it good enough to set as your homepage please tell me why.

uh... nickybangkok, please do not start/ask a question in a forum that has absoloutely nothing to do with what you just asked. Please post that question in the "Google" forum.

Azoundria, you need to provide a short paragraph or two about what it is. I did not know what it was till I read your post about it. It didn't work for me. None of the links worked either. I still don't fully understand what it does. You say it's a "Free Domain" registerer... well, I tried one that already exists and it said "This domain is free, click here to register it" or something similar. Is it meant to really do this?

Oh, and I found a little error. When I went to "Homework Help", next to your copyright notice was a yellow underlined "M". I clicked it and it took me to this page: http://www.azoundria.com/misspell.htm. I'm assuming this is an error. Better fix it up!

uh... what are you refering to? Is this in the homework section or what? Please be more specific. And just saying "Ugly" is not very helpful. Try be more descriptive and helpful.

Your website has a cool blue layout.But the page looks too plain and visitors may decide to leave if it is not something attractive.And the theme of the site is pretty good I'd say so an improvement in the layout will jump the site's USP.
