The design is o.k, not bad, organized structure. But it should look more professional. The logo is perfect, it match the idea of freelance.

From a design perspective, i like the top bit, it looks more professional than the rest of the site, especially the logo. If you are trying to create something like an informative website which sends people information about updates on freelance projects around the globe, then i would probably go for a more corporate look.

I do like the blue colour you have used, it looks really fresh, so i would definatly keep that and the logo.

Play around with the font sizes and Colours, as this can make a real difference.

Layout is bad. The advertisements really distract from the main purpose. You must design your sites to draw user's attention to the desired places. My brain is freakin' out because (on my screen) I see the search span across the page with a search button hugging the top and a go button hugging the bottom.
The explanation should definitely not be centered! If this is to be successful, you need to make a lot of improvement.

On the bright side, the logo is good and its a great concept. Keep working on it.
