I like it - the 'blackish' doesn't really bother me. The only thing I can suggest is a bigger or maybe bolder font for 'latest news' as it took me a few secs to figure out that was news. GO PHP!

It seems to be lacking in content a bit. The site is called 'Core Coders' yet there doesn't seem to be much about programming or scripting at all. In fact, what purpose had you intended for the site? A site isn't worth much without a purpose.

Well, along to the design. There is an overwhelming amount of blue a lack of anything that really catches the eye. Using more images would help to fix both of those problems. Also you could use another color somewhere, such as inside of the tables.

Good luck! :infinity:

Oh...BOXES!!! All I see are bloody white lines and BOXES! Please, never ever use anything but white or black for a forum background color. And it's best to have a white bg with black borders. What you have hurts my eyes.

Second, make the effort to use grammar, punctuation and spelling on the front pages. You don't talk that way; why would you type that way?

Header could be bigger. And what does Core Coders have anything to do with what I see on the front page? If I came to this site, I would close it after about ten seconds because I have no idea what it's about. You need to get it out there for the people to see.

What's with the clocks?

Counter = useless. If you care that much, put it in a hidden DIV. I hate counters. If the number's too small, you look incompetent and puny and if it's too big, it looks like you're bragging. Spare us.

Why, oh, why must you use skins??? Please try to do it yourself, you learn so much more that way.

To sum it all up: I really don't know what this site is about. The design hurts my eyes. Your language construction makes me think that twelve-year-olds work on this site. This could be much better with time.

It's a little plain at the moment, but you're off on the right foot. Your code is clean and fairly quick aside from all of the images. However, your source code seems a bit mixed up--which is quite alright on most browsers since HTML is very forgiving.

Quote:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">
<body bgcolor="#02253A" text="#FFFFFF" link="#FFFFFF" vlink="#FFFFFF" alink="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<!--DWLayoutTable-->
<tr>
<td height="18" colspan="2" valign="top">
<title>:: Core Coders ::</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">
</head>

<body bgcolor="#02253A" text="#FFFFFF" link="#FFFFFF" vlink="#FFFFFF" alink="#FFFFFF">
<table width="100%" height="5%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<!--DWLayoutTable-->
<tr>
<td width="193%" height="88" colspan="2" valign="top"><img src="http://www.corecoders.com/CoreCoders.jpg" width="395" height="88"></td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="15%" height="18" valign="top">
<html>
<head>
<title>Menu</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">
</head>

You've got <html> inside a <td> tag with <body> way above it and <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"> all the way at the top. Most browsers can figure this out, but it definitely doesn't fit standards. You might want to look into this in the future. As for the look and feel, it's a bit plain, but it's a good start. Keep fiddling around with CSS. Your code is already fairly clean, so you shouldn't have much trouble perfecting things.

Last thing: the site needs more content. I couldn't find much that would keep my attention if I came to your site by accident.

Good luck.

Sorry, I'm a programmer and I'm not seeing anything. What kind of code do you guys write? Also, the content looks just too plain. Too much text. No pictures at all! The clock thing is also very annoying to me. I'd go for a redesign and add some meat to the site.

The color for the title of the page is not visible. Changing the background color would help.

Right off the bat my eyes were given a shock. The color's on the main page are harsh, painful to look at and hard to focus on one thing at a time. Maybe use a lighter shade of blue? and a darker shade of white? The way it is now is "cool" but is buggie for the eyes, and may keep visitors away.

I also agree it lacks content as stated above, images could help out alot. Give a bit more eye candy.

And my main concern is there is no correlation between any of the pages at all, each one is different,
i.e. the
http://topsite.corecoders.com/
http://dm.corecoders.com/
http://maps.corecoders.com/
are all WAY WAY different then the main page. That is never good.

I like the layouts alot, and with some work I think they will be rockin! Keep up the work, your on to something great.

I like it, it's basic and straight and absolutely simple to navigate.

I'd agree that the black and dark blue with white 'accents' that aren't that great really are hard on people's eyes, and the borders draw attention away from the content somewhat. The PC World Site Templates (begging your pardon, but they're better, IMHO, than what you have there) should be a good starting place. Unfortunately, I can't remember the link to the URL of where you can download them.

I just checked the other pages on your site and they are drastically different from your homepage. Ditch your homepage appearance and stick with the more white-background approach, at least until you've figured out how to do the blue or black background thing right.

It looks alright. Its easy enough on the eyes. The navigation is simple, straight forward, and easy. But those white boxes, there horrible. Also some content about Coding might be nice, being that its called "Core Coders" and all :D.

The black background made the white borders and text seem too bright. When I was trying to read your contents, my eyes were distracted by the brightness and I decided to stop. So, I think you should change the colour scheme of your page. :wink: Hope I am being helpful..

Looks ok, but I have a problem with the content. Maybe if you changed the name it wouldn't give people a wrong impression.

unfortunately domains are $20

Maybe you are going to have something later about coding.
