The purple layout with the black text gives me a headache. I love the color as it really wakes me up but how about adding more white to the design?

The black text is because I haven't really got round to finishing it. I think I adding more white is a good idea and I think also adding more contrast in general will help, maybe get more darker shades in there as well. I don't know if I will scrap the purple now, I think it is still worth persevering with.

My fav is scribble. Love the childish look (am an animator as well so yeah I think it is cool)
I am glad that you and Bobbo171 like the scribble. It's my fav simply because it was fun to put together - the underlines and getting the stretchable borders to match up.

There are more styles planned and drawn up, one of them is already half-built. Although I think I will be leaving it for now until I have got the current styles and some more of the content sorted.

RTM-great job. I have a few comments.

You mentioned in another post that your graphic design was not very strong-I have to say that your first CSS that loads would give someone NO indication of that. It was very clean and well laid out. The only thing I would do is lighten the image that has text over it near the top. If you are using PS, the best way to do it is adjust hue/saturation and play with the lightness and saturation. (the more you lighten, increase saturation) All in all, outstanding job. I didn't look at your code. The purple one was really bad but I know you said that you were not done with it.

I looked through the content briefly and from someone more on the design side than the coding side it seems easy to follow and has info that a lot of other tutorials leave out (assuming users already know it probably). So, on behalf of designers-thanks for putting this out there. :D

Well, Well, Well RTM!
nice to see you have your own site now!
oky doky, because I am not a master at html lol, I will just review what I can ;)

The image of the monkey....I just dont see how it fits it, I think it is supposed to look like a sketch, but i think it would look a whole lot better as a vectored image... but thats just my suggestion :?

The style selector is awsome, I really like that feature, I quiet like scribble... I think it is because the monkey fits in with the grey some more....oh well lol.

The mouse over for the scribble stlye is nice, but on the link "CSS Full-Length Columns" you only see the scribble on the bottom part of the link. Supposed to be like that?....never mind me..

maybe alter the way you show the information and split over multiple pages?...just an option, because you have certain stages and I think it would look nice with each stage, or block of information on a seperate page.
(probably just me lol)

If I come across more, I will add more
This page will definately stay in my mind, as you have hinted many times that tables are bad lol, I am seriously gonna take a look at CSS, and I am sure your site will help alot.

Ah how I missed such an opportunity!

I'm still not sure about the copyright, I did wonder about it from the start, but as all the way through the content I have refered to "I" and "me" it would seem a little strange for me to pretend that it is an organisation.

I would think it's quite okay. You own the site after all. And it also looks more professional. Besides, I think ALA uses a lot of first person phrases in the articles too.

Greetings,

Thank you for the help with my problems recently.

-It's be nice if you added a site search engine.

-The style selector is original. Very nice.

This is going to be a site I recommend to my visitors. Nice job.

Ah, I can design a clean simple layout with a usable UI, but my <b>artistic</b> design skills are lacking. On this board people tend to use the word desinger to mean "graphic designer". I think I agree with the top image, it does seem a little bold now you mention it.

Nucleo,
I always work with neat, clean vectors, and one night I decided to mess around with sketchy stuff. I came up with the monkey, an elephant and the scribble style at the same time. The monkey was never supposed to be a logo, it was added on as a way of tying the different styles together - I wanted something constant between the lot of them. I guess that is why it does not fit :?

*shakes fist at IE users - yeah I know about that problem lol. I will probably change it back to just "Full length columns" - i think that fits.

The style selctor could be altered so only site admin has control of it. Might be handy for webmasters who can't make up their minds about site aesthetics ;)

Webinv,
A site search would be great when I get the site running properly, but it's a static site! I could build a custom one with reg expr. to scan the static pages, but I doubt it would be very efficient.

Thanks for hte input guys, alterations will be made some time but not just now as I am too busy and tired :(
