Hi Guys,

Looking for some constructive feedback on my website, for a design agency. Only starting out in web design, but specialise in design for print.

Any feedback greatly appreciated! The following address will forward you there: http://www.walkdown.co.uk

Thanks,
Mark

EDIT: - strangely have a very similiar logo to the last guys post at http://www.obros.co.za/ !!

The design is solid, but for a design firm I would expect a little more daring, a little more pizzaz. Maybe that just means changing the way that the navbar works to incorporate the pink from below into in a cool way. I like the logo as well and I wouldn't worry about it having some resemblance to the obros one.

I am looking forward to seeing how you present the portfolio. There are so many different and creative ways to do so. Keep up the good work. Hope this helps.

HA! If you didn't have 24 posts i would not have left you a review, as i would have assumed that you were here just for the links. I say that because your website looks very professional, and very clean. Well done, man.

I don't think there's any real problems with your site but I do feel a bit like it misses the mark concept wise. For a design shop it doesn't really help me understand what you do. I've been trying to put my finger on the problem and I think its more of a content strategy issue than anything to really do with the design.

The images are a large part of what puts me off. I'm not sure how it is in the UK but in the States its really really rare to see anyone related to a design shop in a tie. This sets the tone right off (even stronger than a fun color) as feeling very corporate. Then the following imagery, while decent imagery, doesn't make me want to dig deeper since it looks just like stock I see on so many other corporate sites.

IMO there are two things you could to do to really increase your site's value to potential clients. First I'd love to see actual spreads/sites/etc in that image area. Really just zoom out a bit and give site viewers a better understanding what you've been doing recently. Second, I think its important to look at your writing style and really show (early in the site experience) that your not just good at what you do but really an expert. Clearly stating the problem/solution or at the very least your involvement in a project goes a long way toward coming across as the expert.

As I said before, the site itself is fine but I doubt its really helping you from a marketing standpoint.

It kind of sends a confusing signal. The colors reminds of a shoppingsite for younger women. The snow or bubbles seems a bit amateurish. As if the designer is to happy with effects. I really think you should drop it. If you start with the About us-page a lot of the confusion would disappear. Theres the clear message...

The front page looks like a blog. I would switch out this page http://www.blobble.co.uk/aboutus/ with the front page. It tells what you do, and then the user can move on to specific topics.

Walk Down (Design Agency)

Sorry, I think its alright, I would have Customer designs on the front page, not awards etc. It looks like part of the site, not the front page.

Anyways just an opinion, Happy New Year

Hi Guys,

Just a quick note to say thanks for your feedback.

This is aimed at those who have responded above - I have taken on board the constructive criticism, and have revamped the website accordingly.

I'm not expecting you to remember what the website looked like before (heres a small screenshot - http://www.blobble.co.uk/en/wp-content/ ... enshot.png) but if you're interested, hopefully the new look site will be better going forward, thanks to your feedback.

New look website: http://www.walkdown.co.uk/

Thanks again,
Mark

Well the design is pretty nice but I would suggest you to reorder the content of the site as the main content is coming below the pic which is not looking pleasant.

This does looks to me like an ordinary website template based on wordpress. Still if you have done it yourself congrat. :)

Also if you reconsider about latest news, cause I know that sometimes company just has nothing to write about them, but still puts the news headlines which nothing worth. I guess better if you will put some hot-to articles in the latest news section and rename it "This is how we do" or some how else.

I am not saying that you have copied someone. It is just what it looks like an ordinary theme :) (no offence)
