This is something I never thought I'd see the day for. Dog grooming sites. Well the day is here and I need to start. I am still working on this... WORK IN PROGRESS
I have great knowledge of scissors, just not web design.

http://www.dtailsdogsalon.com/

my main issue is on the appointments page. I really dislike the long link one has to click onto to get to the scheduler. That is what the company sent me to include. I would like it to say appointments only. Not that horrible thing.

How is the font size? is it too small to read quick and easily?

your design is very nice! i like it! picture looks good! in your header your title looks simle for me! would you change the font type'! you will use helvetica or others! colors are suitable for design! in addition this i dont like the menu place! the vertical navigation menu is on the right side! it musnt be on the right side for me'! it must be on the left side! you will change its place! generally your design looks sweet!

Thank you.. I will look into that. I don't believe the menu placement is changable with the winter design tho.. Made from a template. I will look into that with the post Holidays design.

It's cute, simple... However for a dog grooming web site my first impression was not about dogs or grooming, more like snow or skiing.

A couple of other first thoughts would be to have a:hover on your menu's, also on your appointments page you are showing the href tag right on the page - <a href=“http://www.securedata-trans5.com/ap/...page=10” target=”_blank”>Appointments</a> you may want to change it to - <a href="http://www.securedata-trans5.com/ap/...page=10" target="_blank">Appointments</a> I am guessing but I would believe that your link was a copy and past from Word.

All in all, it's a fun site, just needs a little clean up.....

Just 2 things...

1. There are no dogs. Looks nice, but like a big present (I know its X-mas, but...).

2. You don't like the link on the appointments page... it looks like you didn't mean for it to be like that as the html is showing. According to the source you 'remarked-out' the quotes. That is, the left quote shows as &lt and the right one as &rt. Its probably the editor you are using. It thinks it should be showing text so automatically replaces the quotes with the code for them.

Regards,

Tim

When you say no dogs, do you mean on the pages themselves? There are 2 pages of pictures of dogs. I will be changing the base page as Christmas is over. The big present look was temporary.

Change to:
<a href="http://www.securedata-trans5.com/ap/...page=10" target="_blank">Appointments</a>
From:
<a href=“http://www.securedata-trans5.com/ap/...page=10” target=”_blank”>Appointments</a>

Sorry, but these look the same to my untrained eye... Can you please explain the difference.
Thanks again

(Her Son: The Quotation marks seem to be the only difference)

The dogs... no big deal - in fact I see its changed & looks good now.

Here is what I see when viewing the source of your appointments link:

&lt;a href=“<a href="http://www.securedata-trans5.com/ap/dtailsinthepearl/index.php?page=10%E2%80%9D" target="_blank">http://www.securedata-trans5.com/ap/...page=10”</a><!-- / message --><!-- sig --> target=”_blank”&gt;Appointments&lt;/a&gt;&nbsp; scheduler.

Should be:

<a href="http://www.securedata-trans5.com/ap/dtailsinthepearl/index.php?page=10%E2%80%9D" target="_blank">Appointments</a> shceduler.

Hope this helps,

Tim

I got the appointment thing worked out. Thank you!
Now about the font... The home page is different now. Is it better or are the other pages better?

I like the home page font more - it seems like I can read it faster than the other pages.

First things first: I'm a bit of a spelling and grammar freak, so I figured I should give you a heads up. You have a typo on your appointment page; "reasonable" is spelled "resaonable". :idea: I didn't read every page, so I couldn't tell you if there were any more. That one just caught my eye. :wink:

I would also suggest using the same font on every page. Switching between fonts can subconsciously make simple things a bit more complex. I really like the design and the graphics. It's very simple and cute; relevant to the site's purpose.

I should probably mention as well, your navigations could be easier to read. You should perhaps use buttons instead of text. This is good if you don't change your navigations very often. Your "Location" navigation looks a bit off, perhaps because it says "Location, Location, Loca...". If you shortened it to just "location", it would balance better. You could also center the navigation links; however, navigation buttons would be best (like I mentioned before). :D

Good luck on your site.

I like your design, just 2 things that I would like to change..

1. the menu goes to the right instead of the top, I dont like it there, and I think ur menu will look better if it's a list and not a line...

<link>
<link>
<link>

instead of

<link><link><link>

think u get what I mean :)

2. the font, agree with Karinca, helvetica or something like that would be nice.

gr8grmr,

Couple things... if you take N2graphics suggestion and change your navigation to buttons, as an SEM I would plead with you to at least make a text menu at the bottom or somewhere. Search engines can't read graphics.

Also, is it supposed to say 'new for 2006' at the top? Shouldn't it be 'New for 2007' now?
