I just started completely redesigning my site.
What do you think about this design?
Any tip's for improving it?

Speaking as someone who once moderated & stepped down before they had a stroke, you might want to edit this topics title to match the format of thoose you see in the review forum.

Before you do that though, you'll want to make sure you've got the 3 review requirement pegged.

Getting thoose 3 reviews done, & done well, could bail you out of the fact that you didn't follow instructions in the first place. ;)
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

Review a site. Something useful, not 'I don't like your colors.'

Not just one site. You have to review at least 3, minimum. Good Luck!

There we go, all done.

But where is the message saying you have to do this?
Put a sticky or somthing telling people that they have to...

I moved your post into the proper forum. The reason you didn't see the "rules" requirements was because you posted this in webdesign. If you had posted this here the first time, when you clicked the New Topic button you would have been presented with the rules automatically. I checked your three reviews and they were OK. Please continue with your review.

First comment: Lose the comic sans ms... linux users can't usually see that font, and your site will lose it's uniqueness to something like Times New Roman... and it looks pretty bad like that.

Also... you foresee many features on your website... but where are the links to those features?

Also, get rid of the user details on the landing page, but put that thing under a link called something like "What I know about you, no hiding from the dudeking"

Also, center the entire content of your website. Right now it's aligned to the left... have it centered. gives it more a professional look.

Also... make it less promising in the form of "I will add" but make it sound more "Many features will be added to this site like ....." then it sounds more like a defenite promise, and will provoke some visitors out of sheer curiousity to pay a return visit to your site, to see how it will grow.

Also, if possible, try to create a more 3d effect in your website... right now it's black and darkgray.

if you add a tint that's between those colors at the edge of your black borders, at the top or bottom, you create a 3d look, which makes the site stand out more, and makes it look more professional.

Well, that's all i've got to say at this point.

I use linux, its an old stylesheet same one as I use on my old site.
Can you recomend a good font for linux and windows? and maby even Mac as well.

I don't like adding links till things are there, people click them and then email me asking why it dosnt work.
Forums comming next, not sure what software to use though.

Thanks I will change all that, might take a bit of work with the 3D, I'm not too good with graphics.

For a forum i'd use phpbb forum.
If you go to http://members.lycos.co.uk you can host a phpbb forum there for free, when you finally find where to activate the php and mysql database ;)

A good font? well.. the only font that pops to mind is courier... but that is an ugly font ;) I would go with just the standard font browsers provide. It reads easier, and the user is customed to reading that type of font.

use google to see what a nice platform independant font would be.

And graphics aren't that difficult... if you use a program like "The Gimp" it's pretty easy, when you finally find your way around the program.

Adding a darker gray line, 1 pixel high at the bottom and left side of those darkpatches of yours, will mean a significant change in the look of your site. it's easy, you can even do it with MSpaint.
