Hello, Forum Members,
I am a Newbie in web-designing, I had made a website to distribute my freeware software's that i would like to improve a lot, would like to get tips and suggestions from proffesionals on this forum.

Now I see what everyone was saying about one of my sites.

You would do well to center the page, I think it would make a hell of a difference if you did.

I don't like the colors that you used for the body.

I wasn't sure that there was even a menu right away. Perhaps it would be better if you added a menu on the left side as well. This would also fill up so ugly blank space there.

One thing, please get rid of the javascript rollover on the menu. Although informative, I found it extremely annoying. If I need to find out what content is in it I will click the link.

Nothing really jumps out at me at first on what the site is about, which is usually a back button prompter.....but hey, that is something I need to work on myself.

I like the concept of the site, and I hope that you will continue to improve upon it because I think it could be very valuable to a lot of people.

http://www.freeware-alternative.uni.cc/ here is a link to the site, he has it in his sig. and i agree with vlad, i think you should center the page, and put in somekind of background. Other wise very professional looking page.

I like your choice of colors. I think you may want to reconsider having black text over a somewhat dark background-there's not much contrast.

You are seeing it like this bcoz I had designed it for 800x600 resolution, I would like to get help frm u members on how to make a version for higher resolutions.

don't make 2 versions-make a centered version. Then it will move based on the resolution

hmm nice logo. but there's something about your site that says "I'm a beginner" I don't know, there are several good things like the rollover links and the buttons but I think it's the main background that screws it up a bit. in general, nice site keep it up.

add a background color similar to the green you have so white space is not empty.

I dislike the size of font, boldness, and underline.

No? Thats too waste of time changing it for the site, when the site looks fine in 1024x768 and majority of people use this resolution, and the javascript thing is annoying to deal with.

DON"T PUT BLUE LINKS ON A DARK GREEN BACKGROUND!!! IT LOOKS HORRID!!!

Why do you have so many meta tags? You don't need all of those! Just put the copyright, description, and keywords. Make sure the keywords are also used in the rest of the page so that google will pay attention to them!

Need I say anything about that code? Seriously....what are you using? Frontpage, Dreamweaver, CoffeCup? This code is way to messy!

i like the way you have put a camo color pallet vlad your site is like from the land of maxopolous its like maxheadrum both of your sites will become very useful to me thank you for sharing
