The site looks good but it seems to be bumping out of the screen. Otherwise , it looks quite professional but it doesnt look like a flash site. I mean this effect could have been achieveed easily in html , so why bother about flash? ( but i appreciate your flash efforts )

Thank you for the input.

There are many misconceptions about the use of Flash.

A Flash desigh will look the same in all browsers unlike sites that use other technologies.

Also, let's look to the future. Using a Flash architecture allows for easy integration of audio, video, XML, and database applications.

Yes, let's look at the future...

When I set my sites up, I know in the future Google's gonna be my #1 referrer. Google doesn't understand flash :)

Anyway, as far as the technology you're using, I don't like it, but that's your decision.

For general appearance, it's not TOO bad. None of the pages are TOO bad, except, for the fact that all the different pages look like they belong to different sites. There's just too much variance in the layout of the actual page content - although the overall header & footer on each page is the same.

As a photographer (although primarily digital), I just want to go to a site like yours, instantly see what you offer, how much it costs, and the turnaround time.

As far as your prices go, they're not gonna impress me. There's MUCH better deals online, with big companies. You can't charge high street prices on an online store (although, you do say your retail store prices are even more expensive). 16x20 for 55 bucks? Ouch.

Google started indexing Flash about a year ago and are constantly working to improve Flash indexing. (hint)

This site also ranks well for keywords aimed at it's target audience.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ph ... gle+Search

and Yahoo:
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=photo+ ... =&ei=UTF-8

MSN too:

Varied content from page to page? Of course.

I wouldnt actually say that prices are higher in the store, but say that you get a bargain if you order online or save money if you order online.

"hint"??? Ok, here's a hint, GOOGLE CAN'T READ FLASH :D

Yes, google will add .swf URLs to its index, and it's been doing that for a lot longer than a year, however, Google CANNOT read the actual content of the .swf file!

google.com

Isn't there in the first 10 pages of results

In fact, Google only knows of 4 URLs on your site, and 3 of them come up Error 404.

Not really sure if that classifieds as "Ranks well"

MSN too:

Well, that's because MSN hasn't caught on to stuffing your page with hidden keywords yet. Looks like Google and Yahoo have already penalized you for having text the same colour as your background. Still, only 2 pages showing up in MSN's index, but at least they both still work :)

That doesn't help you if Google doesn't know about your different pages :)

The website shows up fourth for the Yahoo search. Just under another of the domain names for the site.

I'm curious. How has this site been penalized by Google and Yahoo?

Google does read Flash.

Ok, so Google can index SOME flash files now. It's still extremely limited, and I've NEVER seen an .swf file come up in the results for ANY search I've done - and I do hundreds of searches per week on Google.

As far as penalizing, as I said, search engines DO penalize for content hidden the way you've done it (text the same colour as the background). Also, that isn't a really competitive term you used as an example - according to Wordtracker : "0 results". That means nobody has searched for that particular term in the past 60 days on meta search engines. It generally helps to aim your keywords & phrases to things people are actually searching for. :)

Well, anyways, you keep using flash and doing what your doing, I wish you luck. You'll need it :)
