I would really appreciate feedback on my site http://www.internetsecurity101.net. I have been working on it for several months now and would be grateful for any feedback/constructive criticism. Thanks in advance.

Here are my two cents:

I am a minimalist at heart, so I loved the clean, simple layout. The left-hand navigation is easy to understand and the font size is easy to read. BUT (you knew there was a but right?) :-)

- The grey links (in the navigation and in the content text) are hard to read against the white background. I would opt for a darker grey for the left hand menu, and stick with underlining and black text for the content links.

- Personally, the pink for a hover option is a bit crazy, but that is just me!

- Times New Roman is a hard to read font for paragraph text. Maybe use Times for your headings (and the cool drop-cap!) and switch the other text to a nice verdana.

- Make the page header (the h2 with the pic) stand out a bit; maybe increase the font to be half the height of the pic and center the text in the middle of the pic. Also, resample your image to be the exact size you want. 38k for an image that small is a lot of excess! Google Irfanview. It's a great free image tool.

- I liked the 'in page' navigation when you chose to put it at the top of the pages (like the keylogger page) instead of under the left-hand menu (like on the Phishing Scams page). Another option would be to put the 'in-page' navigation in those cool green quote boxes, or create another color box (NOT PINK! :) ) for the in page nav an offset it in the content (like the quotes).

- another navigation niggle; instead of writing 'Please click on the links ..' at the bottom of your pages, why not include a horizontal menu at the bottom?

Kudos for using pspad for editing. I love that app.

The content it's self is pretty good, but it's incredible let down by the design, or well lack of it. You mention at the foot of the page it's designed by http://denial-design.com . Are you DENiAL? The DENIAL site doesn't look all that bad, strange how the two sites differ in quality so much.

For a start get a proper header. The image your using is the first image result when you search for "internet security". Come on, at least do something with the image!

My advice, look at other site's designs and get some inspiration.l

Thanks for the advice. I am not DENIAL. I used one of Denial's web site templates found at http://www.oswd.org. Getting another logo is good advice. Thanks again.

These pages are different from the others (viewed with FF)

http://www.internetsecurity101.net/links.html
http://www.internetsecurity101.net/phishing.html
http://www.internetsecurity101.net/spam.html
http://www.internetsecurity101.net/tips.html

Not sure if that is on purpose or not.

I think you should integrate the adsense units to the content. You might change those blue and green links to black links (or gray). They are almost screaming "DON'T LOOK AT ME! WE ARE GOOGLE ADS".

That's actually a really good idea to integrate the Google Adsense Ads into my content. I'm actually going to be changing the layout of my site and when I do I think I will take your advice and integrate my Google Ads in with the content. I had a look at your site and I really like the way you have placed your Google Ads. They look far less intrusive than my Google Ads. Thanks for taking the time to leave me the advice/feedback. I have bookmarked your site by the way and will be visiting it in the future. I really like the layout of your site and it looks like you have some informative, interesting content. Thanks again.

Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate it.

Take a look at this site: http://www.gameza.info/ , I like the way they integrated the Google ads to the page. It's a very nice sample.

Thanks for letting me know about this. This was actually an html mistake that I made. In the process of correcting this now. I have made a few changes in the layout of my site the last couple of days. Any feedback would really be appreciated.

I think your site is a bit too simple, try adding a logo or adding more colour. It would also look better if you change your text to something other than Times Roman, it makes your site look 'default'.

Thanks for the feedback. Adding more colour is a good idea as well as a logo. I will be doing both. I know this is off topic, but if anyone knows where I could find a good free logo, or a site with tools to design a logo, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again.
