Hi all

I know, been away a long time, been busy as hell out here, had way too heavy holidays (need to lose a couple of kilos now) but I'm back :)

Here's a site that isn't finished yet, but it should give you all an idea of the end result.

Still to do:
- splash page, the one that's there now is temporary (you'll probably notice that by viewing it)
- opening animation
- guestbook and email form aren't operational yet
- images of the portrait and bikes are temporary (still pixelated)
- other than the about page and media page, the language options aren't available yet, need to finish those.

But, that's all been worked on, I just would like to hear your thoughts on general design, loading time, functional navigation and ofcourse, any ideas and all feedback is welcomed.

Thx in advance for taking the time to check.

MUSIK: the audio options are at the top center, to mute them, hit the stop button ;)

i like it but it's clearly over-inspired by a very well known firm's
work. Don't be offended, but I think you should spend some time and
revamp it to be a little more original.

You do good work otherwise...keep it up.

Not much I would change... The font in the navigation bar is good except that i had a little trouble reading the first one (About). Like the music, but it gets old... i would add different tunes to each major page... Very cool site over all

Hey,
Nice transitions. Flash can be cumbersome whentoo much is going on, and your's runs very well on DSL. Very slick. Can you have the music fade out after a few repeats and a new track start? I find busy music will turn me away from a site after a while.

You are the second out of more than 100 people looking at it to say this. I know which site you mean, but other than sliding panels (which are quite common I believe) what else is there that is over-inspired? (nope, definately not offended ;) just would like to know what exactly is the over-inspired thing and what exactly to change (especially the change part :) )

As to the music, I guess I need to make some more loops then. Problem is, the client only wants one loop and likes this one, but I'll make some add them and see what he has to say :)

By the way, programs used: PS, Swift 3D, Swishmax

I really like it (and that's a compliment if it comes from a flash-hater like me). I only had a quick look, but I'd try to increase the picture quality (for example the first pic of the racer appears seriously cripled due to a too low jpg quality).
I also really liked you first page (where you choose languages).

another question: Are you the driver or are you his webmaster?

I'm the guy that is in charge of the webdesign, not the driver :)

As for the images, yes I know, just temporary placeholders at this time, need to receive the images still.

The splash page, that is something, well, to be honest, I think it's quite ugly at this time, no structure or fixed design as yet. Probably gonna change that drastically.

Mersiekes voor het checken van de site ;)

Nice Design!

Personally I don't think there is such a thing as over inspired. All ideas are triggered by images in which we have seen. In no way is this a rip from an existing site - it may have influenced your design, but it is obviously your design.

Keep up the good work!

PNG's kick butt, don't they? I wish support for them was more universal.

Oh gosh!! No, I was missing something. You did such a good job at creating the drop shadow over the bkgnd texture (and I was looking at it on my laptop) that I automatically assumed it was PNG. Sorry. My bad.

PNG's still kick butt though. LOL.

No problem, and yes, you are right, png's kick butt, pity that transparency adds a lot to the file size though.

It was a bit of a puzzle to have it blend in the right way :)

that splash is much better -- good work :)

the new splash certainly takes A LOT away from my earlier
comments. Now it looks far more original, even though the
design itself is still the same. With the new splash I don't even
think of the other design at all now. That's all I was saying
when I suggested to take some time and be bit more original
with it. You pulled it off nicely.

As I said, nice work.
