i agree. a 3-column site (php-nuke type effect) that way more things could be implemented into the third column if there is a lot of space left from the secondary links. same could be said for the 1st column. ads of some sort either advertising different pages like a 'whats news' or 'up coming events' or 'new yamaha info' etc. this could be incorporated into the menu columns because of all the space you will save by doing it this way. dont forget to make the main content text similar if not the same as the menu text. make the menu text readable because atm it isnt really. its too small. since you have been delving into CSS then you can see that css would take care of the whole textual part of things. it could take care of the whole site really then you would only have to alter the css rather than the pages themselves.

Thanks for the feedback all...

first thing i notice is CLUTTER. there is alot of menu info there

I don't believe that the menu is too cluttered, nor too long. I did debate the length, but after visiting countless other sites I do not believe that the menu is neither too long or too cluttered. On the other hand I do have a problem with the main content section, I do believe that it needs to extend past the menu...And it will, once I get the other content up and running.

the text is quite small and doesnt flow with the main page text. the bottom buttons that appear on every page look to be to far up from the bottom. the address doesnt have to be there, instead it can be in the contacts page.

Thanks for pointing that out, I changed the font to arial all the way around and increased the size to 11px...I tried 12px but I thought it looked too weird. Also I moved the bottom links below the address, which coincidentally has to be on each page because the guy that pays my salary wants it there ;)

how about splitting up the menu...

Again, another idea that I toyed with and wrote, but I believe that I will have better luck with certain search engines if each page contains a fuller menu.

the header needs to be in line with the actual site. the whole site should look like the whole instead of its parts.

See previous post about the header..Still working. If someone has some free time and would like to e-mail me a nice motorcycle theme header that is around 125px tall and flows with the site I would be much abliged ;)

you are using .shtml formats. are you including alot of files into the tables

I am using includes for the header, menu and footer content for each page so that I do not have to clutter the code with all that HTML as I write it. I started out using it a few years ago when I dabbled some in HTML and it stuck with me.

you could split up the menu into two columns, one on either side, that way the menu wouldnt be as long as it is now

I am going to add a news feed from cyclenews pretty soon, which will give the index page a three column layout. If I like it I may keep the third column for site ads and other news and incorporate that into the other pages, I will just have to see how it looks and flows.

Thanks again for all the feedback...I'll post changes later.

See what you all think about this for a layout. None of the links work right now, I am just looking for response good, bad or ugly...

EDIT: IE messes with the layout spacing on the right pane some, but Firefox is perfect. I believe the css to be correct, but if someone looks at it and sees the problem let me know please.

EDIT: URL change

that layout is a lot better than what you have currently. its more in line, both left and right margins are in line. i think on IE it looks pretty good. i have looked at it on IE and on firefox and they look the same. did u use CSS for the positioning as well? looks good. still a load of links but if it has to be that way then fine. what about the bottom links. they are still quite high. can u lower them? what about putting the address on 2 lines instead of 4?

I finally got the lines straight in both IE and Firefox just a few minutes after I posted, it was a css issue that I worked out. I should be able to change the bottom padding on the main body and get the links closer to the border, and I'll play around with the address to see how I like it.
