Hi there all

I was wondering if anyone would like to take a look at a new site I am designing

http://www.oldmate.net

It is currently still in the development stage...

This is a tabless design and has a CMS

I am aiming towards W3C compliant code and web accessibility

Any comments appreciated...

Cheers

Not sure if if looks the same in IE but your copyright text is on the right side of the webpage. The colours of the site are good. The navigation is good too but the site is not well alighned and looks a bit haphazard and i would suggest the navigation under the header , centering the site with contents only. That way it would look much better.

Thanks for that...

what browser are you using?

I have tested in IE FF and Opera and it all seems to align properly for me....

everything is centered on my system in all 3 browsers.

Everything lines up for me too, from IE 6 and its a good site. I would look at your page titles though and maybe go with "Old Mate Musicians Online". That other title can become your META tags. I think you should take out the skip to content link, because your content is already visible (which is a big plus!). Lastly, you should put in what city and country you're located, until I saw the phone number I thought you were American. Looks like a good site off to the right start.

Very nice looking page... But :> A little thing - the transition between the guitar-logo and the black background. Maybe there is a possibility to make it look smoother? menu is looking quite nice

Why don't you use the whole site (because you're using a template ?)

why can I validate your page ?. Didn't you it on your own ?.

It's a very nice site, except for the 2 thing I mentioned above.

thanks folks....

The skip to content link is there for users who may be using a screen reader or cant use a mouse....this way they dont have to go through the menu and layout of every page first....

Still working on the page titles ....and we are moving house so it might stay that way for a week or so unfortunatly... but yes i know exactly what you are saying... The client wanted it up straight away....i was acually coding the CMS as he was using it ....chatting on messenger telling me how he wanted it to work....

Spoorzoeker : The validation should work on every page...And its not a template....its all hand coded with tableless CSS design and XHTML and the CMS is custom hand coded as well.

Thanks for your suggestions and comments...will look into those when I get back to business......

Cheers
