Your Flash design looks really nice

Hey guys,

I just finished my online portfolio at http://www.onyx-design.net.

For now it's only available in Dutch so nobody (except righteous_tresspasser :P ) can read the content. I'm still working on translating it, when I'm finished I'll say so in this topic so you guys can also review the content.

But... for now, please your comments on the design.

I've checked all the pages and except one they're all valid XHTML strict ;), also valid CSS.

Great job!

(are you really 14?)

Just one thing - I would take off the bit of graphic that lines the main content/ text on each page (you know the bit I mean? the light blue margin with dark blue leaves scattered on it). I don't really feel it fits with the rest of the design, and I don't think it would take anything away from the overall feel if you just left that bit white. In fact it would give the text some breathing space..........

I like the design of it a lot. I don't really see anything you could improve on, but instead of having the flash header only on the main page, why not put it on every page? This can be done very easily if you had PHP Inclusions on your site, or some kind of template engine. Otherwise, very nice.

You know what might be an easy way to smooth out the Flash header a little (the movement is kind of jerky), is if you were to increase the frame rate in Flash. Then stretch out the timeline to compensate for the extra speed that will give it.

With a simple animation like that, you shouldn't have to worry about it adding too much size to the Flash file and I think it would add a nice pro feel.

Other than that, great job!

I just validated your site for you as you had the XHTML 1.1 Strict link there. It's found 11 errors.

@Celandine, Actually my birthday was a few weeks ago so I'm 15 now ;)
Maybe you're right about the leaves, but I do like them... I'll think about it.

@Bryce, I have PHP inclusions, but the reason I didn't do it on all pages is that I think it starts to annoy when you see it too often.

@wish71, I have an english version: http://www.onyx-design.net/pagina/en/home

@jameson5555, you're right... I'll do that... ;)

Thanks for your replies guys:D
